Lizel van Rooyen | Talent Director

Lizel is a highly experienced, strategic resourcing partner, providing a range of specialised executive search, recruitment and talent solutions, whilst implementing sourcing methodologies, key metrics and measurements. She has advised various blue chip private and public sector organisations on talent management, coaching and mentoring, development of African talent, succession planning, human resources and resourcing strategies.
Her exposure includes the headhunting of executives and scarce skills professionals through to bulk recruitment (e.g. financial specialist, ICT specialists, project teams, covering various technical engineering, project management, contracts and commercial skills). She has extensive experience in the management of large volume recruitment projects, as well as managed outsourced temporary and contractor solutions. She has undertaken assignments in Africa for multinational organisations in the finance, FMCG, pharmaceutical, logistics, services and telecoms sectors.
Debbie Heathcote | Business Director (EMEA & Australasia)
Debbie has 18 years local and international specialized recruitment experience across various industries. Her areas of expertise include search, resourcing and talent acquisition. She has successfully worked within a management consulting environment with multiple stakeholders and business units, to meet strategic staffing goals across all levels.
Her thorough understanding of full life cycle recruitments processes has been gained in working as a resourcing consultant, managing in-house recruitment for a global management consulting firm and being the Sole Proprietor of her own specialised SAP resourcing business, focusing on permanent and contracting placements locally and internationally. She has managed a recruitment and administrative staffing team and has been responsible for their training, mentoring and ongoing development.
Debbie is driven, resourceful and thinks strategically. She has outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work effectively within a highly ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
Kervel Du Toit | Senior Executive Search Director

An Executive Search Consultant on behalf of blue chip multinational companies, with real understanding of the complex African resourcing market.

Veronica was born in Brazil. She is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Veronica is our specialist researcher for roles in Portuguese speaking countries. Since joining The Genius Reserve, she has gained experience working on roles across the African and European continents. She has greatly added to our capabilities to fill the most challenging roles and is experienced in the FMCG, Agriculture, Banking, Mining and Manufacturing sectors. She is well versed in the role of client/candidate liaison and has built strong relationships with all concerned. She is a team player and well-liked and respected by her peers.
Masters Degree in Marketing & International Relations
Marie is fluent in French, English and Spanish and speaks basic German, Arabic and Chinese. She has lived and worked in France, Spain, Ireland, Austria, China and Morocco. She is a specialist researcher and has experience in the FMCG, Telecoms, Agriculture, Chemical, Pharmaceuticaland the Oil & Gas sectors. Marie is also in addition to her research responsibilities, accountable for business development in the above sectors.
Ilana Du Toit
Ilana was born in South Africa and moved to the UK in 1996. She joined Genius Reserve in 2008 in our UK office and is now very well established within the Genius Reserve Research Team. Her attention to detail and constant drive to deliver on projects make her a well respected team player within the organisation. Dedicated Search consultant, an integral part of our business model, and an expert in research and mapping functions. She is passionate about the executive search industry, interacting with people and building professional relationships and networks globally. Ilana has excellent interpersonal and communication skills which is very useful to interact with clients, candidates and service providers. She is well known for leaving no stone unturned. Specialist in FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Financial Services and Mining & Energy Industries within Africa, Middle East, Asia and Eastern Europe. Fluent in English, Afrikaans and Flemish with a basic understanding of German, Spanish and Dutch.
Ros has more than 25 years working experience in both the United States and the UK. She has worked in a variety of industries including fabric and furniture design and manufacturing, institutional investment consulting firms and for high net worth individuals. Ros currently supports the research teams.
Chartered Mechanical Engineer
Mike has held senior corporate executive roles with SABMiller over the last 27 years, including CEO of Regional Operations, Operations Director, Group Corporate Affairs Director and Group Technical Director. He is deeply knowledgeable in the field of Supply Chain and led the Group’s Global Supply Chain optimisation and harmonisation initiative.
Since leaving SABMiller, Mike brings his leadership and supply chain experience to bear in the field of executive search, focusing on E2E supply chain leadership, encompassing procurement, manufacturing and distribution, for multi-national consumer goods companies in Africa and Europe.
Mike previously worked in the fields of nuclear, marine and aeronautical power generation.
